Remember years ago when your mother would wrap up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and put it in your lunch when you went to school? When you grew up, I bet you decided you were getting too old for them. NOT SO! In reality, a PB&J sandwich actually has some redeeming qualities! You’ve got high quality protein in the peanut butter, a good source of carbohydrates for energy with the bread, and if you pick a fruit spread rather than jelly you can reduce the amount of sugar you are taking in.
Other great things about PB&J sandwiches is that they don’t require Tupperware, they take up very little space, they don’t need to be refrigerated, and they don’t require microwaving. How handy is that?! It’s a great lunch for work, a pre-exercise snack, or for any outdoor recreation!
